Business Modelling Session with EPOC and Cambridge Enterprise

This workshop will provide University of Cambridge postdocs with an overview of business modelling and will take them through how to use the Business Model Canvas effectively in the Postdoc Business Plan Competition.

The session will cover the following:

  • What is a business model?
  • An overview of the business model canvas, the different elements and what they mean
  • The different types of business models
  • Examples of business models
  • Having a go at building a business model
  • How the business model canvas can help you in the competition

The event will be run by Ludo Chapman of The Innovation Practice. Ludo has over 30 years’ business experience ranging from launching and leading start-ups to running a mid-sized business.

He started out by setting up a software training company before becoming CEO of a scientific instrument business, Grant Instruments. Following this he spent a year working with technology start-ups getting funding, leading product launches and setting up their sales channels, both in B2B and consumer markets.

The workshop will be followed by networking event with food and drinks.
