Marks and Clerk have long been recognised as one of the leading patent, trade mark attorney and intellectual property law firms across the globe. The seminar will provide a basic understanding of how to develop, commercialise and manage intellectual property (IP).

This workshop will cover:

  • What intellectual property is
  • Why it is important
  • How to get from concept to patent application
  • Best practices and common mistakes
  • Commercialisation of IP
  • Considerations for making sure a company is a success
  • Contracts - common pitfalls
  • Particular issues linked with investment/M&A.

*Please note: to be eligible to attend this event you must be a postdoc working within the University of Cambridge.
