Day 4

Mill Road Winter Fair Saturday 5 December

Head down for:

Opening Ceremony

The Mayor formally opens the Mill Road Winter Fair at 10.30am at Ditchburn Gardens.

Food Fair

The very popular Food Fair is bigger than ever this year, with stalls in Gwydir Street Car Park and St. Barnabas Road. There are stalls offering a fantastic range of food and drink - ready to eat, to take home or to give as gifts. The Food Stalls page has information about each individual stall.

Market and Craft Stalls

Stalls are dotted along various places on Mill Road: in the marquee and outside on Donkey Common, in Ditchburn Gardens, at Great Eastern Street Car Park, on Romsey Parade, outside Bharat Bhavan and more. Look on the Stalls page to see what happens at each location. The marquee on Donkey Common is open to the public at 10.00am. Click to see a map of where these venues are on Mill Road.

Mill Road Art

Mill Road Art is in the Anglia Ruskin Drama Studio at the bottom of Covent Garden, also on the map. Visitors can view and purchase the work of local artists. Refreshments are available at the nearby Six Bells along with an exhibition of artists' work.

Mill Road Music

There are busking spots with musicians and choirs along the length of Mill Road as well as in Ditchburn Gardens, at the Food Fair in Gwydir Street Car Park, at Argyle Street Housing Co-operative and in a marquee in Hope Street Yard. Look on the Performers page to see who is playing where.

Later in the day there is a programme of live music at the Salisbury Arms pub. Come along to the party after the fair finishes and enjoy some fabulous music!

Local businesses

Many of the restaurants, shops and businesses along Mill Road take part in the Fair by staging their own events, providing special dishes and offers, or raising money for charity.
