Postdoc Academy

The Government's announcement on 7 December 2021 recommended that people should work from home where they can. However, the Department for Education has made clear the expectation that in-person teaching and learning should continue, and that staff needed to support the continuation of in-person teaching and learning are exempt from the working from home guidance.

As of 8 December 2021, the University's position is as follows:

The University and Colleges remain committed to delivering as much in-person education and assessment as possible, and to ensuring that we are as effective as possible in undertaking research.

In pursuit of that objective, and in line with government guidance, in-person teaching and assessment should continue next term, subject to the necessary precautions.

Any work that depends on in-person, on-site activities should carry on, subject to precautions. This extends to the activities of administrative staff whose on-site work is essential to support our academic endeavours.

Anyone who develops symptoms - even mild ones, such as a sore throat, runny nose or muscle aches - should seek a test from the University symptomatic testing service.

Staff are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible to increase their protection and decrease the likelihood of transmission.

If you have any questions or are feeling concerned please do not hesitate to contact us on contact.pda@admin.cam.ac.uk or your local departmental postdoc representative.
