The University has launched an initiative with the organisation My Family Care, which delivers family-friendly emergency back-up care and will give employees access to a network of child, adult and eldercare across the country at short notice.

The University offers a cycle to work scheme to help employees purchase a bike from a local shop. A number of local cycle shops also offer discounts to University employees – find a full list of participating retailers here.

More information about bike safety, security, and bike parking in Cambridge can be found here.

There are also several car schemes, travel to work loans and discounts on bus and train tickets available – find full details here.

Alumni

The OPdA and Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations (CUDAR) are delighted to be able to extend a number of University alumni benefits to postdocs. To qualify, you need to have been in a postdoctoral research position for at least one year. Even if you plan to remain as a postdoc at the University beyond this year, you are still welcome to register for alumni benefits.

If you are/were employed by the University, your details will be forwarded on to the OPdA for verification and then on to CUDAR. However, we would strongly encourage you to update your details on Employee Self Service to ensure you can start to receive these benefits as soon as possible.

To obtain all of the benefits available to you, please fill out this form.

In due course, you should receive a welcome letter or email from CUDAR and start to receive the alumni e-newsletter and e-CAM, as well as details of how to register for your Cantab.net email. Details of the benefits available to you are listed below.

CAMCard

This special card gives you free access to Colleges (when they are open to the public) and to a range of discounts in the city. If you are a University alumnus/a, you should have already been issued with a CAMCard after graduation. If you need a new one, please email .
