last modified Jun 06, 2017 02:05 PM
The Canada-UK Foundation in the UK is establishing a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship scheme between both countries - they are looking to appoint a Project Coordinator.

The programme seeks to promote the careers for talented young scientists in Canada, while strengthening links through exchange between recognised UK and Canadian academic and industrial centres of excellence in Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship.

The Canada-UK Foundation is keen to execute a pilot programme embedded at the University of Cambridge.

It seeks a Project Coordinator who will work with the Foundation’s leaders, staff and volunteers through the summer of 2017 to develop a business plan for the programme, an implementation plan for its initial pilot phase and subsequent 3-year roll out.

Role and deliverables - over a 10-12 week period, the successful candidate will:

  • familiarise him/herself quickly with the project and its aims through discussion with the Foundation, its staff, leadership and volunteers
  • develop a programme of work to develop business and implementation plans to meet programme aims, and to be agreed with Foundation
  • work with Foundation to develop persuasive value propositions for stakeholders; deliver to agreed programme of work and timescales
  • submit written and present final report for review.

They are looking for:

  • someone who has recently completed a PhD or Masters degree, with experience in the development of business and project plans
  • a self-starter who can work independently and is comfortable bringing structure, focus and clarity to a broad task
  • project and leadership experience
  • strategic, operational and financial acumen
  • articulate and professional in demeanour
  • very strong writing skill with an ability to synthesise findings into recommendations and operational plans
  • some knowledge of Canada and Canadian higher educational institutions would be an advantage.

To apply, please email your cover letter and CV to anthea@canadaukfoundation.org.

Closing date for applications is 16th June 2017.
