Women in STEM2D Scholars Award Program - apply by Friday 13 October

Johnson & Johnson has launched it's WiSTEM2D Scholars Program, an award to support women pursuing research in STEM2D disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing, Design).

The Scholars Award is a 3-year award in the gross amount of $150,000, which will be paid to the University for the benefit of the awarded J&J Scholar and her research, with the understanding that the Recipient will administer the funds.

The Scholars Award will be paid in three instalments of US $50,000 per year over the 3-year award period, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the program’s Agreement.

Please note - the University has determined that postdoctoral researchers are Cambridge's global faculty equivalent of assistant professors, so they are eligible to apply for this funding.

Internal selection:

The University can submit a total of 6 applications (one in each of the above STEM2D disciplines) and therefore, this call will be managed according to the University’srestricted calls policy.

To take part in this internal selection process please submit the following application materials to communications.opda@admin.cam.ac.uk by Friday, 13 October:

1) 1000 word research proposal

2) a letter of support from your Head of Department

3) CV

4) 500 word impact statement

5) an X5 (your departmental administrator can assist with estimating these costs)

 

Should you be selected to submit to Johnson & Johnson, please note that you will be required to submit additional application materials including a one-minute digital video and PDFs of selected publications.
