The group will run for four sessions on Thursdays at 1pm, on 12th, 19th, 26th April and 10th May.
The group will work on developing your own inner resources and look at strategies aimed at stress prevention and increasing a general sense of wellbeing.
Each session will consist of opening and closing mindfulness/ meditation practice. You will have a chance to learn and practice these techniques as an effective way of soothing the nervous system and calming the mind.
The group will then cover a different theme every week linked to one’s sense of wellbeing. Amongst other topics will look at negative self-talk, psychological self-care strategies and how to manage our emotions. No prior experience of meditation is required.
All sessions will be held at the University Staff Counselling Service, 1st Floor, 17 Mill Lane and will last up to 50 minutes. (Due to the nature of the sessions entry for attendees running more than a few minutes late will not be permitted.)
