Open Research Survey - responses needed by 21 May

last modified May 09, 2018 04:11 PM
The Open Research Working Group has commissioned a survey of views and practices relating to Open Research, to inform development of the University’s support for open research activities. They hope that postdoctoral researchers may be prepared to spend a few minutes to share their views.

and  are representing the postdoctoral community on the Open Research Working Group. They will be the chief point of contact for any queries from postdocs.

The working group has been set up at the request of the General Board to develop a position statement on open research on behalf of the University.

The working group, which reports to Research Policy Committee and includes representatives from each School, central services and the postdoctoral community, is chaired by Professor Richard Penty (Master of Sidney Sussex College / Department of Engineering).

You can read a short paper by Professor Penty here for context.

The working group is carrying out a survey to help capture existing practices and perceptions of open research in different academic disciplines.

It is really important that a good range of views across different disciplines are captured – representing the full spectrum of experience and perspectives on open research.

The findings of the survey will be shared as an output of the working group. Further consultation will take place on the future wording of an institutional statement about open research arising from this survey.

It is extremely important to the University that the drafting of the position statement is informed by the views of those in the research community and so we urge you to spend a few minutes completing the survey.

To respond to the survey as an individual, please respond here.
