Building Access

  • Eastwood Room, Seminar Room & Committee Room - access to the meeting rooms is available to event organisers for the duration of their event following an online Health & Safety Induction. The meeting rooms are accessible without a University Access Card between 8.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Should you require out-of-hours access your University Card will be programmed or a temporary access card can be provided.
  • Hot-desking space - regular and out-of-hours access to the Postdoc Centre is available to Postdocs by University Access Card following an online Health & Safety Induction.
  • If you are hosting an event it is your responsibility to provide access to attendees.

 

 Health & Safety Induction

  • Health & Safety Inductions for the Postdoc Centre @ Mill Lane are web-based and take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
  • Email contact.opda@admin.cam.ac.uk to arrange, giving your name, department and CRSid.
  • If applicable your University Card will be programmed following the H&S induction or a temporary access card can be provided.
  • University Card programming is performed by the Mill Lane Facilities Team and can take up to 5 working days.
  • Temporary access cards can be collected from the Postdoc Centre @ Eddington.

 

Information for Event Hosts

  • You are required to complete an online Health and Safety Induction before your room booking request can be accepted.
  • The meeting rooms are accessible without a University Card between 8.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Should you require out-of-hours access your University Card will be programmed or a temporary access card can be provided.
  • The doors are set to lock automatically at 6.00pm and for security reasons must not be propped open.
  • You must advise the OPdA of any catering arrangements and special access requirements.
  • It is your responsibility to configure the room layout prior to your event and to tidy and return the room to its original layout following your event.

 

Disabled Access

  • Limited access. There is a short flight of steps leading down to the basement where the Postdoc Centre is located, but unfortunately, no elevator or stair-lift is available.

 

Parking

  • Pay & Display Parking is available at the DoubleTree Hotel, CB2 1RT, which is a 5-minute walk from the Postdoc Centre.
  • The OPdA is unable to reserve parking spaces.
