Interested in commercialising new technologies? – APPLY FOR i-TEAMS BY SEPTEMBER 29th

last modified Sep 23, 2015 09:07 AM

Interested in how new inventions are commercialised? Looking for some hands-on business skills and experience? Then read on!

"I was one of the first students who joined i-Teams. The experience really shaped my career, as I changed professional course and from an engineering student doing his PhD, became a business consultant and then project manager, and I have now founded my own company”

George Lentaris (i-Teams 2007) Founder of EnerVibe

Teams will be notified by Thursday October 1st. The first session will be on Monday October 5th at 8pm, when you will meet the inventors behind the projects.

Please include a covering letter indicating which project most interests you and why, and a brief CV of your background and experience. You are more likely to secure a place on a team if you specify a second choice project.

i-Teams Cambridge is open to all post-graduate students and post-doctoral researchers, and any member of CUTEC or Cambridge University Entrepreneurs

  • University of Cambridge
  • Anglia Ruskin University
  • University of East Anglia

i-Teams runs on Monday evenings at 8pm-10.30pm from October 5th through to December 7th with a final presentation session is on Thursday December 10th at the University Centre. See the i-Teams syllabus for details.

Sessions are held in the Institute for Manufacturing.

All teams meet as a group regularly throughout the term, and also meet weekly as individual teams. Past i-Teamers estimate that their projects needed about 4 hours a week of individual effort in addition to the time spent in team meetings. As part of their projects, team members will need to contact external industry experts by phone and email – some calls and meetings may need to take place during office hours.
