The Academy of Medical Sciences have announced their Springboard competition - DEADLINE 22nd October

These scheme aims to support those in the first three years of their first salaried post. Applicants must not be in receipt of research funding as PI exceeding £75,000 p.a. (excluding your personal salary). Clinical contract holders are ineligible. They are looking for applications from across the range of medical sciences: encompassing everything from  molecular, cellular and structural biology to anatomical, physiological, psychological, epidemiological and public health. Applicants can be focused on laboratory research, clinical application or healthcare delivery – the primary criterion is that your research aims to improve health. TheAcademy of Medical Sciences expect the University to run an internal selection process as only three names can be put forward in each round. To meet these requirements, this call will be coordinated according to the University’s Restricted Calls Procedure. For further details see here.
 
Funding: Up to £100,000 over two years towards research costs and professional development.

  • Funds can be used towards the employment of support staff, purchase of consumables and equipment, access to technical support, training and travel.
  • Funds cannot be used to pay for personal salary costs.

Internal Selection deadline: For this stage, applicants will be required to submit to by 22nd October 2015 (17:00):

  •  The attached internal selection form
  • A letter of support from your Head of Department confirming that they are happy to support your application.

Funder closing date: 7th December 2015
