Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with Dr Jan van Niekerk

As part of the Clinical School’s Mental Health Awareness Programme Dr Jan van Niekerk will be presenting an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder briefing on Wednesday 26th August at 12:30pm in the William Harvey Lecture Theatre (Biomedical Campus).

Jan has practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in Cambridge for a number of years and have lectured on both CBT and psychological disorders to undergraduate students here at the University. With a particular interest in OCD and related conditions, such as health anxiety and body dysmorphic disorder, Jan has predominantly focused his research on treating OCD symptoms through the use of CBT.
 
Jan’s talk focusses on what OCD is, the causes, the potential signs and the treatment and support for adults.
