Postdoc Academy

DEADLINE 9:00am Monday 25th November 2019.

This is a developmental mentoring scheme. With developmental mentoring an experienced mentor helps you to develop your strengths and potential, and to identify your changing needs, values, aspirations, and what's most important to you. Mentors will not assist with Mentees’ CVs, grants, or act as references.

In order to take part in the mentoring programme, you are required to attend a 1.5-hour training session.

Expectations:

  • There will be 4-6 meetings with the mentor over a year
  • Meetings generally last 30 - 60 minutes
  • The Mentee is responsible for scheduling meetings and sets the agenda
  • Focus is on building the Mentee’s problem solving/self-efficacy skills, exploring solutions rather than advice
