Postdoc Academy

We're looking to appoint a Communications Assistant to support engaging communications across our website, newsletter and social media channels, providing information to Cambridge's community of 4,000 postdocs.

The role is part of the Communications team which provides strategic planning and delivery of the overall communication programme for the Postdoc Academy and its activities, ensuring that our audiences understand our programmes, spaces and advocacy work, and we produce a wide variety of content that enriches postdocs' experiences at Cambridge.

Working with the Communications Manager, the Communications Assistant will deliver effective multi-channel communications activity to our community, including:

  • working with colleagues across the University to update the PdA website, ensuring it is accessible, user-optimised, and accurate
  • creating content for the PdA's weekly newsletter and social media accounts
  • using analytics tools to track and report on engagement with our communications channels
  • updating our mailing lists and content calendars.

It would suit a person with excellent writing skills, great attention to detail and an interest in social media. As with other roles in the Postdoc Academy, the work is varied and each day can look different.

We believe that we will best support the postdoc community by bringing together a diverse team and creating a positive, inclusive work environment, where everyone can be themselves. We warmly encourage applications from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ individuals, who are currently underrepresented at this level across the HR Division.
